Abstract
Discusses the nature and technique of stained glass and the problems of protection. Stained glass in the Erfurt cathedral dates from the years 1370-1420; altogether there are 1108 colored panes. Describes previous restoration efforts and the present state of preservation, the lead cames being in the poorest condition. Isothermic double glazing is planned. Discusses the execution of various long-term tests.
