Cigarette beetle eggs, larvae, pupae, and adults were exposed to gamma radiation from a ⁶⁰Co source at the Atomic Energy Board at Pelindaba. The dosages ranged from 100 to 2500 Gy. A dosage of 750 Gy produced 100per thousand mortality of all the immature stages whereas a dosage of 2500 Gy was required to produce 100per thousand mortality of the adult beetles.
