In order to increase the sensitivity of radioisotope dating, cyclotrons and Van de Graaf accelerators have been employed recently. In this paper we propose new methods of dating based on laser techniques. Retaining the sensitivity of accelerator dating these methods can eliminate the use of accelerators, thus cutting the price of a dating set-up at least a factor of ten. Applications are pointed out.
