Although the watch restorer's trade cannot be learned from books, the author has nevertheless collected a number of books about clocks and watches, and he briefly describes the range and sources of this collection. He then focuses his remarks on a single book, <i>The Watch Repairers Instructor</i> by F.W. Britten (1946), to warn beginners against it as probably the worst book of technical instruction ever written. He does recommend De Carle's <i>Practical Watch Repairing</i>. -- AATA
