A personal report on the Museums and Conservation Conference at the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts in Amman, Jordan, October 1988. The basic problems confronting the museums include: funding for collecting and maintaining the collections as well as the buildings; poor display installations; lack of training of staff members; and the problems related to conservation and storage.
