Abstract
The possibility of strengthening paper by impregnating stable, short-chain polymers, e.g., acrylic or cellulose acetate resins, dissolved in liquefied gas solvents, is examined. Preliminary testing indicates strength increases comparable to vapor phase treatments at lower unit-treatment costs, and higher production rates, are feasible. -- AATA
