Abstract
The conservation of a large nineteenth century Canadian exterior wood sculpture is described. The object's history, both technical and cultural, is discussed. The results of microscopic and analytical examinations are given. The conservation treatment of the sculpture and subsequent restorations of missing parts is then discussed.
