Abstract
The Little WorldmMuseum of Man, located in the hills of Inuyama City, Aichi Prefecture, Central Japan, has both an ethnological open-air museum and a main exhibition hall. Typical ethnographic houses have been obtained from many parts of the world and reconstructed in the open-air museum. The transfer of houses from different climates, in particular, has led to many problems of conservation. Methods of reconstruction and the choice of materials are discussed in detail.
