Abstract
Martin van Nieuwenhove's diptych shows a different underdrawing on each of the two panels. The reason is, on the one hand, the reworking of a type of pre-existing virgin and child, and, on the other, the adaptation of the donor's portrait to this model. A comparison can be drawn with another example in Memling's work. -- AATA
