Surfactant uptake and distribution have been found to be dependent on ionic activity, the lengh of the alkyl chain, the treatment conditions, and surface makeup of the wool. The effect of surfactants on fabric properties such as drape, hand, flexural stiffness, thickness, durable press rating, abrasion resistance, hygral expansion, and crease recovery was studied. -- AATA
