Abstract
West African timbers are becoming of increasing importance in the world market, and the number of species exported is growing, as well as the volume of the old-established woods. Since the four British territories of Nigeria, Gold Coast, Sierra Leone and the Gambia are part of the Sterling area, their produces have in recent years been called upon to replace those from countries whose currency restrictions make trade difficult.
