Analyses of light elements is not a routine procedure. Some of the factors used when making absorption, fluorescence, or atomic number corrections are still incompletely known, and some of the procedures in general use are inadequate for complex minerals. To obtain the greatest benefits, it must be used in conjunction with other types of analyses and preferably after the other methods have been carried to their utmost capability.
