Phosphine from aluminum phosphide tablets was successfully used in fumigating larvae of the pink bollworm in stacks of bagged cottonseed. The findings of these studies were used to establish a schedule in the regulatory program of the Plant Protection Division, Agricultural Research Service, to permit movement of cottonseed out of pink bollworm quarantine areas.
