Abstract
Sixteen of 36 amides derived from heterocyclic amines had average repellency ratings against adult Tribolium confusum Jacquelin duVal that equalled or exceeded that of the standard, pyrethins + piperonyl butoxide (a(2-(2-butoxyethoxy)ethoxy) -4, 5-(methylenedioxy)-2-propyltoluene). 1-(1-Oxotetradecyl)piperidine was the most effective repellent in the study; it was a Class IV repellent (60.1 - 80 per thousand repellency) at all three test concentrations.
