Outlines recent improvements in the care of museum collections of industrial and technical artifacts in the United Kingdom. Claims that it is only in recent years that it has been accepted that industrial collections deserve a conservation approach every bit as rigorous as that reserved for paintings and antique furniture. The activities of the Conservation of Industrial Collections Forum (CICF) are also discussed.
