Waterproofing materials for the surface treatment of concrete are discussed with reference to those rendering concrete water-repellent and those giving a completely impervious membrane. Water repellents are usually based on silicones, while membranes may be based on bitumen, rubber latex-modified bitumen emulsions, epoxy resin-modified pitch or epoxy resins.
