This article advises old-house owners on the repair, cleaning and protection of stained glass windows of the type used in American homes about 1860-1920. It discourages treatment for esthetic reasons only and describes ways to correct buckling by retying saddle bars. It also discusses resoldering lead joints, replacing cames, repairing cracks in the glass, replacing lost glass cleaning in a dip tank, polishing with pumice or whiting, and protection by double glazing, but not with plastic. -- AATA
