Reports the analyses of films and remaining polychromy on sculptural and architectural marble from Halicarnassus, now in the British Museum. The relationship between films and polychromy is established. A yellow-brown film was identified, with phosphatic nature, which underlies the polychromy. This film is artificial and implies the use of techniques characteristic of the Greek culture.
