Abstract
Beta-backscatter radiography has been used to produce an image of the design on corroded mediaeval window glass from excavations. The method gives a clearer image than normal photographic techniques, and can be performed using small cabinet-type X-ray units. It is likely to be useful to art historians, draughtsmen and conservators as a quick method of producing an accurate full-size image of the design. Photographs, figures, references.
