Abstract
Mudbricks uncovered in excavation can be rendered waterproof and strong using 2-3% solution of acrylic polymers, Acryloid A-21 and B67. Lab tests simulating over 50 hours of rain and cycles of wetting, freezing and thawing had no effect on the treated brick. Field tests were also conducted successfuliy at the site of Hasanlu. -- AATA
