Four portions of stained glass from the 1370's were removed from St. Bartholomew in Kolin to be sent to a museum. Possibility of surviving portions of the original lead canes were tested by polarography. Corrosion was removed by a combination of wett and dry mechanical procedures, using a 2% water solution of dimethyllaurylammonium bromide ( Septonex ). The surface was treated with microwax in xylene and silicon oil for hydrophobity, since the permanent effect of acrylic polymers or copolymers is uncertain. -- AATA
