Describes the discovery and restoration of the frescoes in the medieval church of Gyoengyoespatak. The murals, which were fragmentary and in very bad condition, date from various periods. They were cleaned and restored. When there were two layers, the upper crust was removed and put on a plastic sheet, and the loose layers of mortar were stabilized by injections and by fixing of the edges. -- AATA
