Abstract
The pounced drawing discovered on the central panel of a Gerard David triptych is compared with those published by Arndt and Taubert. It was used here as a mechanical means of copying a composition. The problem of cooperation between master and pupils is considered, on the basis of the freedom with which the drawing was ignored.
