Abstract
In order to prevent the growth of mold on packing material, the material must be disinfected. Phenol derivatives cannot be used for this purpose because of their toxicity. Cation-active substances were tested for this purpose, as well as for disinfection of document-storage areas. The characteristics of several preparations are given. It was found that n-cetylpyridinechloride is more active than gipkh-34 or -200. Provisional instructions are given for using these preparations. -- ICCROM
