Abstract
Outlines the training activities of the US National Park Service (NPS), Washington, DC. With special reference to the structured self-help educational plan for NPS preservationists which enhances skills needed for analysing documenting, and carrying out treatments for historic structures, research on historic craft practices, historic building materials and construction systems. The last section provides details for participating in this structured self-program for a period of three years.
