Methodology has been developed to estimate extent of deteroration in museum textiles and time left under ambient conditions using property kinetics and the Arrhenius rate expression in the accelerated aging of cotton cloth. A graph of Yarn Tensile Strength versus Halflife may be used comparatively to evaluate degradation in museum textiles for prescribing care and evaluating appropriateness of current conservation practices. -- AATA
