The effect of the structure of weft yarn on strip strength and fabric assistance has been investigated, keeping the warp yarn, fabric set and weave identical. Yarns of the same resultant count, but of seven different structures-i) single Z-twisted, ii) and iii) 2-ply and 3-ply single Z and folded Z-twisted, iv) and v) 2-ply and 3-ply single Z and folded S-twisted, and vi) andvii) 2-ply and 3-ply without folding twist-were used. The changed structure of weft yarn affected the strip strength and fabric assistance in both warp and weft directions. See also AATA 21-1709 for related paper. -- AATA
