Abstract

High speed tensile tests were performed on rayon, polyester, and polyamide yarns. It was found that generally the tensile strength rose for higher elongation rates. The conclusion is that with short-term loads essentially higher loads are tolerable than with long-term loads. See also AATA 201860 for related study. -- AATA
