The Chicago Historical Society installed new storage units for manu scripts, bound newspapers and costumes as described and illustrated in this article. To save space by eliminating most aisles the mobile rows roll together. The specially-designed costume units include both hanging space and drawers, and employ Venetian blinds to minimize dust in the hanging spaces. Ultraviolet filters are used, but other environmental controls are not discussed.
