Color Shifts in Kodak color films are determined and it is noted that the recommendation in Kodak Color Film E77 booklet for refrigeration of color films no longer applies: Kodachrome and regular Ektachrome films should not be refrigerated. Pamphlet Kodak Color Film E-30 States that amateur color films (Kodachromes and regular Ektachromes) should be stored at regular room conditions (c. 70 iota F or less) while those specifically marked professional (such as the new E-6 Professional Ektachrome) should be stored at 55iota F or lower (or frozen). Also, the author reports that a Kodak technician advises the process within 24 hours label on the E-6 Professional Ektachrome will be changed to process promptly. Improved grain characteristics and sharpness mark E-6 Professional Ektachrome as a superior film. The color shift through aging with amateur films released without much aging to allow for normal storage is explained. The professional film, however, is released at approximately the aim point in color balance. -- AATA
