Of the numerous processes for fiber microscopy the author chose and discussed in the form of simple-to-follow recipes those that concern the paper restorer who has basic equipment at his disposal and a basic knowledge of chemistry and microscopy. Examination of fibers in polarized light, staining with ten different solutions and respective processes of preparation are given. -- AATA
