Abstract
Many of the tsantsas' in public and private collections are not authentic ones made by the Jibaro Indians, but counterfeits made by taxidermists from unclaimed bodies. The author lists eight differencesbetween authentic shrunken heads and the forgeries in the Pitt Rivers collection. Other examples of forgeries and unusual authentic pieces are discussed. -- AATA
