Abstract
Studies on the interactions between collagen and C.I. Acid Yellow 36, an acid dye, have been carried out. Hide powder, both natural and chemically modified, was dyed by an equilibrium dialysis method and the dye-substrate affinities determined. Stripping studies of the dyed samples indicated the nature of the dye-fiber bonds.
