This paper describes a set of 35-mm slides that illustrate biodeterioration of works of art such as stone sculpture, canvas-backed paintings, and murals. The biodeteriogens mentioned that attack artistic substrates include bacteria, fungi, algae, lichens and vegetaion. These slides were shown at the First Annual Meeting of the Biodetioration Society in Washington, D.C. The slides are included.
