Abstract
The results of an assessment of fluorescent lamps which were carried out at the National Gallery London are described and compared. Under controlled conditions 5 paintings were viewed test subjects who then questions on the qualities of the illumination the levels of detail and colour discrimination, and colour anolamies which they perceived.
