Abstract
A method for lining to linen with a preparation based on beeswaxdamar resin applied according to the encaustic method is described. Tin sheets are adhered to the wax preparation. The stretcher is kept thin to minimize expansion and contraction of the wood. A rigid backing placed directly behind the cloth protects against blows and flexing.
