Abstract
Data are given on relative density, static bending, compression parallel and perpendicular to grain, hardness, toughness and shear strength of green and air-dried (12% moisture content) specimens from five trees, height 21-28 meters, average butt diameter 0.49 meters. Comparison of the results with the mechanical properties of six Philippine mahogany species showed that <i>C. odorata</i> has low strength properties. -- AATA
