Abstract
The accuracy of the measurement of surface recession rates from stone weathering depends on several factors: time of exposure, instrument, grain size and morphology, etc. A more appropriate measure during the early exposure period is the change of surface roughness. Some statistical considerations are made and case studies presented. Extensive bibliographic references. -- ICCROM
