Abstract
Results of a project to ascertain the usefulness of saran latex, a polyvinyledene chloride (PVDC) as a moisture barrier to buffer or isolate hygroscopic bone from variation in moisture content in the ambient environment. Saran's ability to reduce the absorption and desorption of water by archaeological bone is compared to that of Paraloid B72 and polyvinyl acetate (PVAC). Materials, method, experiments and results are presented. Micrographs, graphs, references.
