Abstract
The fractional composition of proteins of needles was studied during the spring-summer period (May-August). Four fractions of the soluble proteins were extracted: albumin, globulin, prolamin, and glutelin. The seasonal variations of protein nitrogen and the ratio of protein fractions were determined. The aminoacid composition of water-soluble protein was determined during the same period. Water-soluble proteins contained 54per thousand of irreplaceable aminoacids, has a high nutritious value, and may be a resource of fodder protein.
