Abstract
The history of jewelry making discusses changes in technology and choice of metals during the 10th-13th centuries. Cultural influences to affect these changes are indicated. Molds have been discovered which suggest that Kievan artisans were the first to use miniature molds to cast replicas, such as the links of chain, and this technique was consequently spread throughout Old Russia. -- AATA
