This paper describes a suite of microcomputer programs which facilitate the collection and manipulation of coin loss data, and reports some initial results of a research project concerned with coin loss on British sites. Explanations for different coin loss patterns at the various sites are discussed in terms of socio-economic factors. -- AATA
