Abstract
Twenty-one statuettes from Nürnberg, made during the time of the Labenwolf-foundry (1530-1585), were analyzed with the aim of finding out whether these objects have a different composition from the statuettes from the period of the Wurzelbauer-foundry (1580-1656). It was found that during the time of the Labenwolf-foundry four very similar alloys were used, which can be distinguished from the typical alloy of the Wurzelbauer-foundry by different amounts of iron, nickel, antimony and arsenic.
