Abstract
This late third century A.D. hoard from Northern Britain consisted entirely of local imitations of Roman coins and of scrap bronze which was used to make coin blanks. Some of the scrap was analyzed by the electron-probe and shown to contain small amounts of tin, zinc, silver and lead. Three of the specimens were examined metallographically and subjected to hardness measurements. -- AATA
