Abstract
It is shown that fresh wood contains sufficient water to provide an adequate signal for detection by nuclear magnetic resonance-imaging. Addition of MnCl<sub>2</sub> or other paramagnetic substance may allow monitoring of the rate at which preservatives penetrate wood. -- AATA
