Abstract
An introduction to online databases of potential interest to conservators, especially for research and bibliographic information. The equipment, training, and distribution mechanisms are described. In addition to large commercial databases, several conservation-specific databases are discussed: British Museum/AATA, ICCROM, UNESCO-ICOM, and UNESCO-ICOMOS. An extensive list of commercial databases, with information on vendors and coverage, is appended.
