Abstract
Washington University Technology Associates, Inc. (WUTA), is a small private corporation providing conservation engineering and applied research services; it includes a sculpture conservation laboratory. The author traces the development of automated systems at WUTA, specifically its transition from a mainframe information management system (whims) to microcomputers. The use of spreadsheets for conservation project management is illustrated.
