Abstract
Samples of bricks from a Venetian palace have been tested by chemical analysis, x ray fluorescence, x ray diffraction, electron microprobe and pore distribution measurement. The mortar has been analyzed by x ray diffraction and microscopy. The results are presented and discussed. The different states of conservation can be explained by differences in the manufacturing processes.
