Abstract
A description of the method of making a blue lotus chalice of the 18th dynasty is given, based on examination by xeroradiography, low power microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and electron microprobe analysis. The complex sequence of manufacture required to produce this vessel is then interpreted within a framework of the development of faience technology in Egypt. -- AATA
