The Calico site has presented a challenge to archaeologists. If the fractured lithics from this site are tools, then man has inhabited this continent for a much greater period than previously recognized -- possibly more than 50,000 years. The results of a statistical analysis of the lithics indicate that man did not produce them but, rather, that they were created naturally. -- AATA
